Air Vacuum Automation Vietnam is proud to supply a robotic arm solution for an automated laboratory project for advanced materials synthesis at the Institute of Materials Science, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The project is led by Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, Head of the Plasma Technology Department, together with Dr. Nguyễn Nhật Linh, Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Tùng, and Dr. Nguyễn Thị Mai.
The automated laboratory is designed with two robotic arms and an integrated hardware and software system to automate key laboratory operations. The robotic arms perform tasks including pumping, dispensing, mixing, and transferring materials between the cold plasma system and the UV-Vis absorption spectrometer.
The project focuses on automating the synthesis and evaluation of metal nanoparticles under controlled experimental conditions. The system is expected to improve laboratory productivity significantly, with a target of approximately 50–100 samples per day compared with around 5–10 samples through manual operations.
The automated system also supports automatic precursor preparation, materials synthesis, property evaluation, and data storage. By generating large and consistent datasets, the project aims to contribute to the development of a domestic “materials data factory,” providing data that can be used for machine learning and the prediction of new materials and their properties.
Through this project, Air Vacuum Automation Vietnam contributes its robotic automation solution to the development of automated laboratory technology in Vietnam and continues to provide industrial automation and robotic solutions for research and industrial application.
