How a side channel blower works
The impellers are mounted directly on the motor shaft for contact-free compression. Full-capacity operation over long periods, even at high differential pressures, is assured by locating the bearings outside the compression chamber.
Air is drawn in through the inlet port and enters the blower. The rotating impeller transfers velocity energy to the gas in the direction of rotation. Centrifugal force within the impeller blades accelerates the gas outwards, raising the pressure.
The kinetic energy transferred with each revolution results in a further pressure increase. The blower narrows at the impeller, sweeping the gas out of the impeller blades and discharging it through the outlet silencer, where it leaves the blower.
