igus drylin Linear Bearings and Guide Rails

Unlike guide rails with recirculating ball bearings, drylin® linear bearings and guide rails are designed to slide. The sliding elements are made from high-performance self-lubricating polymers, making the carriage maintenance-free and resistant to external influences. These special materials also let the linear bearings run extremely quietly. By switching to drylin® linear bearings, costs are also cut by up to 40%. Configure a linear carriage for your specific application in just a few steps with our configuration tool. Choose the components that match your application needs, calculate the service life and send it straight to your contact details. Use the tool called the "drylin® linear guide configurator".

Better technology, lower cost with drylin linear bearings and guide rails®

Upgrade your existing linear bearings and guide rails by switching to igus®. By switching to drylin®, customers can improve the technology and cut costs by up to 50%. On top of the benefits above, igus® products offer fast delivery, online configuration tools for almost every product range, and proven reliability.

1. igus drylin® W linear bearings and guide rails

drylin® W linear bearings and guide rails were developed for applications requiring design flexibility and quick assembly in both single and double rail configurations. All drylin® W linear bearings and guide rails are fitted with high-performance iglide® polymer liners, which considerably reduce friction and extend service life.

Benefits of the drylin® W linear bearing and guide rail system

  • Many single and double rail variants
  • Single rails offer flexibility for custom solutions
  • Double rails make assembly easier and reduce the risk of misalignment
  • Anodised aluminium or 316 stainless steel (1.4571)
  • Many additional mounting options (single and double rails)
  • Self-lubricating and maintenance-free
  • Quiet running
  • Up to 40% more cost-effective than recirculating ball bearings
  • Dirt resistant and durable
  • Easy to install
  • Light and smooth running

2. igus drylin® N linear bearings and guide rails

The low-profile drylin® N linear bearing and guide rail is used in applications with little installation space. It comprises guide rails and polymer carriages. The self-lubricating sliding elements are made from high-performance iglide® polymer. Designed for applications with very limited installation space, their height is a low 6 to 12 mm (0.24 to 0.47 inch).

  • An easy replacement for ball bearing guides
  • Self-adjusting bearing clearance
  • High static load capacity

4. igus drylin® R linear bearings and shafts

drylin® R linear bearings and shafts comprise iglide® polymer liners and aluminium housings dimensionally identical to standard recirculating ball bearings. The split design of the polymer liner allows easy assembly onto a straight shaft while the shaft stays in place. In addition, integrated wipers clear away debris, making the drylin® R shaft suitable for use in dirty environments. iglide® liner materials offer high temperature capability, FDA compliance, chemical resistance and other engineering advantages.

Benefits of the drylin® R linear bearing and shaft system

  • Self-lubricating - no external lubrication needed
  • Dimensionally identical to standard bearings
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Dirt resistant, lightweight, for all shaft materials
  • Easily replaceable polymer bearing liners keep installation time to a minimum
  • Various polymer bearing liner materials available for additional engineering advantages
  • Aluminium, steel, stainless steel and carbon fibre shafts
  • Operating temperature up to 250°C (482°F), depending on the material
