  1. Introducing air compressors
  • An air compressor is a type of device that uses a motor and a compression chamber to compress air and bring it to a certain pressure. As a basic industrial equipment, air compressors have been widely used in most industrial fields such as metallurgy, machine manufacturing, mines, electricity, textiles, petrochemicals, light textiles, etc. The electrical energy consumed by air compressors accounts for 15%. of all large-scale industrial equipment (fans, pumps, boilers, air compressors, etc.). Most air compressors have obvious inherent technical weaknesses due to their construction and operating principles. When the output pressure exceeds a certain value, it will automatically open the exhaust valve and idle the engine. This causes a serious waste of energy. Furthermore, the motor tends to start and stop frequently. This affects the life of the engine. Star-delta starting compressors have high starting currents, which greatly affects the power grid and causes serious motor shaft wear and high equipment maintenance costs. Harsh working conditions and high noise levels. Low level of automation. Output pressure regulation is done by manually adjusting the valve opening. This has the disadvantage of low regulation speed, large fluctuations, low stability and accuracy.

  • The inverter control system includes the KE300A inverter, pressure sensor and other peripheral devices.
  • KE300A applies vector control technology to meet the requirement of high torque when running at low frequency.
  • The system uses PID control, the entire control process is as follows: Compressed air demand increases ↑ —— Compressed air  pressure on the pipeline decreases ↓ —— The difference between the pressure setting value and the pressure feedback value increases ↑ —— PID output increases ↑ —— Inverter output frequency increases ↑ —— Air compressor motor speed increases ↑ —— Supply air flow increases ↑ —— Pipeline gas pressure is stable; and vice versa for the case of reduced demand.
  • The 0 ~ 10V (or 4 ~ 20mA) signal provided by the pressure sensor is used as a reference value for the PID, which is connected to the analog input (AI) of the KE300A.
  • Start and stop signals are given by the central control system, KE300A can provide analog output signals through the AO, then connect to the central control system to monitor pressure fluctuations.
  • In case of failure of external devices, we can run the fixed frequency manually to ensure continuous production.
